28 Days of February

Hey everyone! I'm currently writing this while on a just-finished-a-book-that-took-forever high. There is nothing that betters the satisfaction of finishing a challenging book. To be truthful, I had an intense love-hate relationship with Cloud Atlas but the last sentence was so fitting (somehow managing to tie every story - six altogether that spanned over centuries) that it won me over. The book was decidedly worth the read despite moments where I just thought I wasn't going to make it out alive. The more I reflect on it, the more I admire the audacity of the author to write  such a unique piece. The good news is, since this book has taken me so long (almost all of February) I've got a few lined up which I'm eager to read.

Other than simultaneously loving and hating my way through Cloud Atlas, some rather monumental things happened last month. Mainly, I started university! I'm currently studying Medical Imaging at QUT. I've only had one week so I can't form a justifiable opinion just yet but I've been kind of sick which probably relates to why I didn't enjoy my first week much. I'm also the kind of person who just immediately dislikes change (yes I know this is a character flaw) but knowing me, I'm likely to end up loving uni, or so I hope. Seeing as I blogged about the main events this month, this post is just an assortment of little day-to-day things. Happy reading/viewing

February 5th - 6th: Jess & I had a sleepover at hers after we spent the day shopping at Indro

The customary experimental smoothie mmm craving
People used to think we were sisters in primary school HAHA I miss those days

Breakfast at Cafe 66
I love cafes that sell flowers
Being apart of Asian culture, this month included numerous Lunar New Years celebrations. I love this time of the year because it means dressing up in traditional dresses, seeing your extended family, and ofc getting money from your elders. I also attended the annually held Vietnamese New Year festival, but I was literally only there to receive an award and immediately left after to Tiff's party. I didn't take any photos at Tiff's because I suck, but mainly because I was feeling sick still.

The next day, Sarah and I attended AVHPA's Tet Gala. We were fortunate enough to be invited due to our achievement in last year's Vietnamese exams. The event was held at the Jindalee Hotel and it was a really enjoyable night despite the fact I got nominated with four other girls for Best Dressed and was pressured into taking a catwalk THREE TIMES.

Cheers to the bar tab

Something that I can't explain compelled me to take this photo
I love the city in the early mornings
That's pretty much sums up February! OH I also watched True Detective this month and if you haven't you seriously must. I love Matthew McConaughey so much and I don't even find him attractive, so you know he has to be good. Thank you as always for reading, I swear I will try to update as much as I can. I'm hoping uni doesn't consume too much of my time, but I could be dreaming. I'll find out. Take care :)
Love, Thy x
